New drivers are not released yet, there is gonna be a Day 1 Patch and the game is nvidia-optimized. I saw someone playing with around 40-90 fps (everything completely maxed out) on a GTX 970 and a 4770K while streaming. So it should definitely be playable with the drivers and patch out.

I receive around 30 to 50 frames per second on medium settings with a 780 resolution.

Played Far Cry 3 in 1080p on medium settings using my Intel integrated graphics. Everything works!

Nvidia fine-tuned? Wow, why doesn't Ubisoft care about AMD? At least AMD provides better driver updates for the game.

In reality, it seems they aren't overly focused on Nvidia either. You can easily switch between different statements. Probably the performance tests will reveal the truth.

J-Frags are currently live and playable right away. He went to a friend's place today and seemed to enjoy it. His settings are at 270x with SMAA enabled, achieving smooth performance without any motion blur. The frame rate ranges from 35 to 60fps depending on the lighting and shadow settings—he managed 42 to 75fps even at 270x. The visuals look great, especially during the first couple of hours. I’m confident this is worth the investment. I own a 290 and am really impressed!

I'm a bit let down since the R9 270 nearly reaches its limits. The reason is that the graphics haven't improved much.

Without MSAA choices the 270 achieves over 30 FPS, but it drops significantly with 2/4/8xMSAA settings, requiring a stronger GPU. Upgrading to a GPU supporting 8xAA or enabling GPU Control Panel for SSAA would greatly improve performance.
