I've been looking into the ideal frame rate for gaming on a 60 Hz display. Here are the five suggestions I found:
1. 60 FPS with no VSync
2. 60 FPS with VSync (though it may have input lag)
3. 80 FPS without VSync
4. 120 FPS (using the formula "2 x RefreshRate + 1") – seems to enhance gameplay
5. The highest possible FPS is best (similar to 3 but even better)

What do you think? Which one do you prefer? Let me know your thoughts!

i usually rely on vsync since it prevents screen tearing, but it updates at 60hz. when playing bf4, the delay becomes obvious, especially when you quickly glance to the side—it feels like it doesn’t happen instantly because of how vsync works. without it, things feel more responsive, no noticeable lag, at least I can’t detect it. that 61fps setting is a bit too fast for me.

60fps locking delivers the most fluid performance on a 60Hz display, preventing screen tearing. For the best smoothness and minimal delay, disable VSync.

Which game are you referring to? If it's Dota 2 or CS:GO, please play at 300fps as usual.

But why not? You mentioned 60 Hz is ideal, but why 300? It’s a bit confusing.

Varies by game; for fast-paced titles like CSGO I cap FPS at 120 but in most others I stick to 60. On older systems I enable VSync for stability, while on newer demanding games I switch off VSync for a smoother experience when it drops below 60.
