Details: I currently use a 120 GB SSD as my boot drive, but I often run out of space and need to delete files. I’m considering switching to a M.2 drive with at least 1TB for better performance. I’m curious how challenging the setup will be. Is it just about installing Windows 11 on the new M.2 and adjusting the boot order in BIOS, or are there additional steps I should know beforehand? I’m okay with having to reinstall necessary files on the C drive.

That's straightforward—just mount the M.2, set up Windows on it, and you're ready to go!

I just added a new M.2 card and made a clone of my system, which worked perfectly. You can clone to a bigger drive but make sure you choose the right option. It also saved me from having to reinstall everything—apps, drivers, etc.—and it took about 15 minutes. Restarted into BIOS and chose the new drive as the boot drive.

There are numerous systems available, yet I've consistently chosen the trial version of Acronis True Image despite its large size and performance issues. Perhaps someone else has found a more suitable alternative.

It seems you're sharing a preference. Macrium Reflect is a good choice for you.

I also tried Acronis but just removed it once it was done. Occasionally I've used other apps, but Acronis always performed well without any problems except for the uninstallation after cloning.

Verified with Acronis – received a successful clone notification, yet booting causes an automatic repair cycle that prevents access to the operating system.
