I’ve never logged into Windows using any of my email accounts. Was signing in through a Microsoft account required? Or were you only able to extract the keys, and if so, how did you retrieve them on Windows 10?

I believe it’s best to reinstall everything completely. If you’re too lazy, ninite works well for installing each program separately. Before starting a fresh install, follow these steps to secure your settings: Move any part of your Steam library to another drive—just copy the relevant folders like steam/steamapps/common. Capture a screenshot of all installed programs, whether desktop icons or control panel entries. Look through folders such as users\(username)\documents, users\(username)\appdata\local, etc., and back up any frequently used or heavily customized directories like users\(username)\appdata\roaming and your favorite game settings folder. Save important files including desktop backgrounds, downloads, music, pictures, and any cloud storage locations you don’t want to lose. If you’re very committed, also save system flags and services.msc. Personally, I don’t think it adds much value, but it’s good practice. Also double-check that your login credentials are safe. This should help you avoid missing critical data.

Thank you for your question. It’s common for some Steam games to require additional software during installation. Backing up just the Steam games folder should usually be safe, but ensure no conflicting programs are installed beforehand.

Steam will carry out an initial configuration upon launching the game, installing every required element.
