I recently updated and replaced all drives, including Windows 11 Pro, on my slowest HDD. My new installation is trying to run on that drive instead of the faster 2TB 970 EVO Samsung in its optimal slot. How can I switch Windows to use this drive and confirm it’s installed correctly? I have two Samsung drives, and the one I want is Disk 3. If I’m doing it manually, what’s the safest way to ensure Windows installs on the right disk?

Disconnect every drive except the one you wish to install Windows on. Set up Windows. Restore the remaining drives.

It's better to manually do it from start as cloning drives while might seem easier can cause issues down the line. Since yours is a fresh Install it's better to reinstall. My suggestion would be to only connect the Windows SSD and disconnect all of the other drives you have in your PC and reconnect them after installation is done. If there are no other drives connected then Windows will install to the only drive you connect.

This would mean taking out my graphics card and several items from my desk. I plan to reinstall Windows a few times before doing it, hoping luck will place it on the correct drive. Thanks for the assistance!
