You're encountering some complexities with your network configuration. Setting up a device like the Verizon Quantum Gateway G1100 can be tricky, especially when trying to understand how it interacts with your existing setup. It seems you're considering connecting it as an AP or bridge, which are both valid options depending on your needs. The AP mode is typically better for extending coverage, while bridge mode connects multiple networks together. Your goal of using the Nighthawk as a primary router for extended range is sensible, especially if you're experiencing connectivity issues. For clarity, consult the official documentation and consider testing each configuration to see which works best for your environment.

Insert your latest router model into the LAN ports on the g1100 (or use the ONT if possible). If you need to link the g1100 between them, switch it to bridge mode while keeping your Netgear router in standard mode.

It seems you're trying to link the nighthawk with the g1100 using coaxial OTN. Check the instructions on that site for guidance.

The g1100 shouldn't rely on coax for connecting to the ONT; instead, use Ethernet. If needed, enable bridge mode on the g1100 when direct connection isn't possible (consider plugging the ONT into the router's WAN port).

Checking if your g1100 is linked to the ONT via Ethernet or coax is simple. Since you have a coax cable plugged into the router port, that confirms it’s connected. For Ethernet, see which device has the Ethernet port active—your computer and TV are likely using it. If unsure, test by connecting your device directly to the router and seeing if it works.

The G1100 is linked to the ONT via Ethernet, not using coax over Fios. The coax port is designated for Moca. You can remove it if needed. Connect all Ethernet devices to your Netgear router.

You're likely connected via the coax connection. I might attempt to use your own modem, but if not, I'll configure the g1100 in bridge mode and connect your router's LAN port to the g1100's LAN ports.
