The motherboard works well with both 9900k and 9700k models, though the 9900k option isn't the best value. The cooler performs adequately for 9900k but should comfortably manage a standard 9700k build.

They're purchasing from another country, making it hard to judge if $375 is reasonable. For a gaming PC with an updated BIOS, an i7 chipset looks reasonable.

The listing for the 9900k on Amazon is for the US market, though the i7 9700k offers a more attractive price. It looks like a solid upgrade from the 8400 and should last through most of your PC's life. Probably the next step will be a completely new machine.
