Optimal budget server setup for CPU, memory, and storage

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some tech advice. My Minecraft server runs on an I7 2600 with 8GB DDR3 RAM, but the motherboard is failing and the PSU feels sluggish. I’ve got a used Optiplex 7010 with an i7 3770 and 16GB RAM ready to swap in. I also want to host Astroneer or Space Engineers temporarily, plus set up a NAS for my family. I already have a 4x1Gbit network card and several hard drives for the NAS (4x1TB SATA). My case can fit an ATX motherboard, PSU, and plenty of bays for storage.

I’m considering an older Xeon with many PCIe lanes and a boost clock around 3GHz or similar. I also thought about Ryzen, but adding a GPU would block most of those PCIe slots. I’m aiming to stay under 200 euros and am open to used gear. If it really makes sense, I could invest more. What do you all think?

The NAS will support a certain number of users, while the Astroneer server is expected to host a different count.

If you manage to hit an x79 on an older Xeon, it’s still a solid performance.

This setup isn't weak since it has a quad-core processor, but it might not be sufficient for running a game server and a NAS together.

I didn't run servers with weaker CPUs, I handled them with stronger ones.
