Hey there! I'm working through my setup for BF4 and wanted to share how it's performing. My rig includes an Fx-8350 CPU, Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard, 16GB RAM (2x8GB), Skill 1600 GPU, Sapphire Tri-X OC R9 290, and I've turned off the graphics card. I'm running it at high settings with around 170% resolution on most maps—some newer ones handle it better at about 60%. I usually get a steady 65-80 frames per second, which feels smooth. The main question is: what settings give the best visual impact? Should I crank everything up to ultra or stick to high/medium and boost the resolution? Thanks in advance for any tips—I really value your input!

Ultra is nearly identical to high, offering a noticeable boost in frame rate. Your adjustments look quite suitable. For better results, consider using AA 4x or 8x and set the resolution to 100% on a 1080p display.

I've been testing them out and it's really hard to decide which one works better. Or are they similar overall?

I didn't really focus on res scale, but I think it's just reducing the detail. That tends to make images a little less sharp. It does the same thing as removing rough edges from what you see. MSAA can handle it too. The choice between them depends on personal taste—experiment with both and decide what works best for you.

Check the res scale setting for Ultra with AA off. You might be able to run it without issues.

It's probably the highest quality setting, but don't assume 3 or 4K will work smoothly on that device.

Sure, the 200% scaling worked fine, but it performs smoothly at 170%, which is why I switched to that setting.

Use Ultra everything MSAA at double or single precision. Set AA to medium or high. Avoid changing the resolution scaling. Maintain full resolution at 100%.
