Optimal AMD Catalyst configuration options.
Optimal AMD Catalyst configuration options.
There are many settings to consider—what should I prioritize? Some choices seem to boost performance while lowering visual quality, like texture filtering quality: 3 options for performance, standard, and high quality. All the settings; AA mode, AA samples, Filter AA method, Morphological filtering, AF mode, AF level, TF quality, Surface format optimization, OpenGL triplen buffer, tessellation mode, maximum tessellation level.
You can experiment with a few options to check their effectiveness, though most adjustments are handled within the game itself so you don’t need to modify the driver. I only rely on the 3D settings menu when I need to force AA or AF (override game defaults), but this approach often yields inconsistent results across different titles.
Allow the app to pick its own preferences. This ensures every game runs with your selected settings. If you set strict options, visuals may become distorted or unclear.
Only with aa there are many more choices I don’t understand which ones to pick.
Respect their choices. Each request should manage its own configuration. This allows custom profiles for unique situations, like boosting sensitivity settings in older titles.
