DDR5 isn't quite ready yet, honestly. I don’t see much reason to care about it right now because you can’t buy DIMMs larger than 32GB, which is mainly due to my preference for storage size rather than speed. Looking up some info suggests that with 128GB on DDR5 and the 12th generation, performance will hit around 3600, and considering its delays, it might actually lag behind DDR4. So it seems safer to stick with DDR4 for now. I’m not sure about the 13th generation or Zen 4—we’ll have to wait until more people experiment with it later.
