I misunderstood the details, the main difference is speed—Ryzen 5 3600 operates at a higher frequency (3.8–4.4 GHz) compared to the 3.6–4.2 GHz of the 3600. If you locate a Ryzen 7 1800X at a reasonable price (perhaps refurbished), I’d prefer that option over the 3600. However, if you’re directly comparing the 3600 and 3600X, I suggest sticking with the 3600 because the performance gain won’t be substantial enough to warrant the higher cost.
