Operation Royal Salute (Gift to CIG) details shared.
We began by gathering the actual contents of the gift. The first step was to display the side pieces. This item is Blanton's Original Single Barrel Kentucky Bourbon — I believe the company has a strong reputation. We've gathered several photos over time using a GoPro and my phone, so you won't be surprised by the variety in quality and angles.
The chosen alcohol was carefully selected to be truly exceptional and of superior quality. However, just the contents weren't enough to guarantee our presence on Wingman's. We decided to enhance the packaging further since they unpack every single one. Once more, I reached out to Josh Bill and his team in Puyallup, WA, along with cedar-box.com for design assistance. We really appreciated their support and the high-quality cedar boxes we received. The items were already sanded, assembled, and robust—definitely worth the effort!
Before focusing on the box, I began with the brass fittings we planned to use. After consulting with some fleet members, I experimented with various weathering techniques. The process started with an overnight saltwater soak, followed by chiseling and hammering it into concrete for natural wear. Next, I burned it and finished it with black spray paint and a rub down. Here are the outcomes.
Wish I hadn’t been in such a tough spot, but I’d have given away;(
