Your Ryzen 5 9600X is overheating significantly, especially with the high TDP and large EK AIO cooler. The temperature reaching 90°C is concerning and could damage components over time. Ensure proper airflow and consider improving cooling if needed. Your Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX motherboard is compatible, but check for any firmware updates or BIOS settings that might optimize thermal performance.

Is this happening while gaming or at full load like Cinebench? High temps on Ryzen 7000 and 9000 CPUs are typical. They’re built to operate at 95°C continuously. The CPU is actually engineered to hit 95°C before restricting clocks or power. What you’re seeing is normal for a Ryzen 9600x. The type of cooler doesn’t matter—it will quickly get hot. I’ll share two videos that clarify this. Timed the GN video; jump to 24:16 for more details. Don’t worry about the flames in the thumbnails—just aim for clicks. The Ryzen 9000 series performs similarly to the 7000.

Perfectly normal then. Absolutely nothing to worry about! 90c is actually fairly decent considering a cinebench run. Watch the videos if you want. But overall, absolutely nothing to worry about. Just continue using the system as you normally would
