I have AT&T fibre internet with gigabit speed, and the only way to connect home internet is via their router. Since there’s no cable modem, I use a CAT6 cable from the AT&T LAN port to the WAN port on my Asus RT-AC5300 router in a second floor room. I encountered a problem where the AT&T router caps speeds at 100 Mbps even after routing through a switch. Anyone know why? Also, I’m looking to upgrade my main PC/server to 10GB and need affordable switches and RJ45 NICs under $200.

The att ont/router model is not specified in the details provided. It's possible it only supports a 100mb port.
