I acquired a 5G CPE router and intend to take it on the go. The SIM card cannot be removed since my ISP sealed it, which voids the warranty. The device requires 12V DC at 2A. I found a lighter plug for barrel connectors, but it seems likely it’s connected directly to the car’s cigarette lighter, which can deliver up to 14V—potentially harmful. Are there lighter or cigarette-style power adapters suitable for routers? Also, should I consider using a DC-DC converter (voltage regulator) for this setup?
