Opening websites in Chrome should take no more than a minute.
Hello, welcome to the forum. Please be patient, I’m here to assist you with your issue. Until about three months ago, my browser was running smoothly. Now, when I try to open a bookmark in Chrome, it takes around 45 seconds to a minute. This problem occurs not only with bookmarks but also when I type an address into the address bar and press enter. I have three desktops that I switch between for different tasks, and all three are using Chrome consistently. I don’t turn them on simultaneously. My wife uses another desktop, and hers seems to open bookmarks and other sites much faster. Could anyone point out where the issue might be? Thank you in advance, mjbarr3
Select one of three desktops without immediately starting Chrome.
Utilize Task Manager or Resource Monitor to assess system activity.
Employ both utilities sequentially, using only one at a time.
After stabilization, keep the tool window open but relocate it to a visible area.
Then launch Chrome and monitor for any changes.
The process might require some testing and patience; pausing briefly between steps is wise.
Background tasks or scheduled processes could affect the outcome.
Verify each desktop and consider additional tools if needed.
I've attempted the previous recommendations without success. The Chrome bookmarks remain unresponsive. I've changed to Firefox and imported the bookmarks temporarily to keep working.
Some chrome extensions might be slowing down page loading. Excessive cookies and saved images in browser caches can also cause problems. Clearing the cache might resolve these issues. Could you provide the details about the computers experiencing difficulties?
