Opening GeForce Experience results in low frame rate.
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a new gaming laptop, an "ASUS ROG Strix 702 Vi." For the first two days I experienced great performance and high frame rates, usually around 180 or 200 FPS, though there were some dips. After three days I visited the NVIDIA Experience Center for the first time and logged in out of curiosity. Once I did that, my gaming FPS didn't exceed 75. I tried several fixes: adjusting the NVIDIA overlay, enabling battery saving mode, restarting the PC multiple times, reinstalling all NVIDIA drivers, resetting the system to defaults four times, removing the Experience Center, and disabling the "optimized settings." I also made sure not to open the Experience Center at all. Despite these efforts, my games still couldn't reach more than 75 FPS. I ran a Valley benchmark with better results—a score of 3950 and a maximum of 165 FPS on Ultra. From this, I realized the issue likely isn't with my laptop but with a setting in NVIDIA or Steam, probably related to the game itself. Do you recognize this problem? I really hope my games run smoothly again. Thanks for your help!
It might be that the graphics options were increased in the Nvidia control panel during installation of Gforce Exp. Reinstalling one of the games could reveal changes made by Nvidia and prevent them from reverting. Alternatively, using Nvidia Exp to fine-tune the game might help troubleshoot further. This process can feel really frustrating!
The real specifications of the laptop are available. I’ve looked into the in-game graphics settings as well. As for the games, I’m checking which ones support those settings.
