Hello! It seems you're having trouble getting your BOINC setup to recognize your GPU. The main issue appears to be missing the OpenCL driver. I checked some guides, but they weren't very clear on the installation steps. Let me know if you need help with that!

Ubuntu 16.04 might be challenging, 14.04 would be simpler, or Debian 8 is better. Use non-free repos and add flgrx-updates if needed.

Upgrade to version 14.04 since the current driver isn't supported by Canonical or AMD. They won't provide updates for Ubuntu 16.04 or later.

It makes sense because the card is 7 or 8 years old now. "Otherwise enable non-free repos and install flgrx -updates." I’m not sure what a non-free repo means, and I have only a vague idea about flgrx—though it seems to be related to GCN cards.
