I need two Word files that are both open at the exact same moment on separate local accounts, plus I want the last version saved right away for each one. Which setting should I pick? The app is showing me if I need to keep a read-only copy or give other choices.

Maybe, but it's not an easy fix. Check this out for collaborating: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...au...86492a1f1d

Why are you doing that? What are you trying to get done?

I just want to keep a Word file open on one account for my personal stuff while also keeping it open on another local account for work. Since I live at home, I can work on non-work tasks during phone calls. My goal is to leave the document open on both accounts so that I can edit and save it whenever I need to without having to keep switching between accounts constantly.

I don't have any other choice than using a tool like Microsoft Teams or turning it into a Google Doc. Would doing something like that work for you?

I would like something in the cloud, but I'd rather have the file stay on my computer's hard drive instead. I'm not sure how to get what I need done.
