You're trying to figure out how to reach the TrueNAS array. Start by checking the installation setup and any plugins you've installed. Determine how you connect to the network shares and set the correct permissions. Most of your problems likely come from not knowing the exact mount path, which should be under /mnt/. Use the terminal to list arrays in /mnt/—it should show something like /mnt/Test_POOL_2TB/.
I restarted, both disks showed exported status. I reimported them and the pool went back online—now I’m there. No additional setup needed. I connect via a shared folder. The user has basic read/write access. The mounting location isn’t /mnt... it’s simply /pool/dataset
What operating system are you attempting to connect to the SMB share? Have you tried this before? It seems you're trying to read or change files on the share inside TrueNAS, which isn't its intended purpose. You'll need a dedicated client device for writing files. Viewing SMB shares from Windows is straightforward—just use the "Map Network Drive" feature in File Explorer. Getting to SMB shares from Linux-based systems is more challenging and often depends on packages that aren't always available in your distribution.
