I've been dealing with a persistent issue since my fourth motherboard. I thought there was a problem with the chipset, but the repeated nature of the problem suggests something else might be at play. My build includes an ASUS Prime X570-Pro with Ryzen 7 5800X, Corsair Vengeance LPX, and other components. I've tried several fixes: reseating parts, unplugging everything, updating BIOS, installing a new NVMe drive, switching to a different PSU, and even removing all storage devices before restarting. The symptoms remain consistent—PC boots normally but fails to load properly in BIOS, with only a brief beep during initial POST. Even after power cycles or clearing CMOS, I can't resolve the issue. It's been two weeks of searching without a solution, and I'm feeling quite frustrated.
Clear the CMOS, configure XMP and define your boot sequence. Avoid any pre-set optimizations—these may alter your processor or memory behavior.
It refers to the UEFI firmware setting that controls how storage devices are initialized and managed, especially when interacting with the CSM (Controller Management Service) module. It determines whether the system uses traditional BIOS or UEFI boot methods for storage devices.
You have options between CSM and UEFI. Updating to a fresh Windows installation makes switching to UEFI logical. CSM is ideal when you need to detach your old HDD from the previous setup and run it in the new system without reinstalling Windows. Windows 10 supports both, while later versions will only boot using UEFI with CSM turned off.
Adjusted XMP, DOCP, boot priority settings and turned off CSM. Despite those changes, nothing appears after saving and exiting. Clearing CMOS is necessary to return to normal operation.
Clearly your CPU, works, your memory works, and your video card works. Have your tried removing the M.2 drive? After saving Bios it should throw an error with something like "No Boot device detected". Which would be a start. Other than that, I can only think of completely discharging the motherboard, which doesn't help as you have already replaced the entire thing. Have you tried booting with stock memory clocks (no XMP / DOCP)?
No I don't get any message when M.2 drive is removed and I reboot. That is why I have been thinking that it is a faulty MB. But what are the odds that I've gotten 4 faulty MB in a row with the exact same problem? That is why I feel like it HAS to be something else that I'm missing
