Only PC operations run in safe mode following CPU upgrade
I recently upgraded my CPU from an I5 10400F to an I7 11700KF and now the machine won't start unless in safe mode. After accessing the BIOS, I can boot through the menu, but it needs repeating each time I power it up. It functions properly once Windows is running, which is frustrating. I'm unsure if a BIOS adjustment fixes this, though other factors might be involved. The CPU remains overclocked, but disabling it still causes issues. Details: CPU: I7 11700KF; Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus XIII HERO; GPU: RTX 2060 Super; RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8GB 3200MHz; PSU: ROG THOR 850W; Cooler: ROG Strix LC 240 AIO; Boot drive: Samsung NVMe M.2 256GB; OS: Windows 10 64-bit; BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 0707, 2021-04-21. Hope this helps!
Restart the previous CPU and perform the update using default system settings without any overclocking. If the installation completes successfully, reinstall the new chip and observe the results.
Uncertain about the cause—possibly due to CrashFree BIOS 3 or a reset to defaults—but it functioned either way. Appreciate the help.
