Hi everyone, I recently bought a Ryzen 7 5800x to go with my RX 6750XT. After installing the CPU, I faced BSOD problems that eventually caused the PC to crash and restart on its own. This happened during intense tasks like gaming. Before that, I had a 5600x and never had any issues. The root cause turned out to be a ntoskrnl symbol error. After some digging, it was identified as a memory problem. I removed my RAM stick from slot B2, and the PC stopped crashing. Once I reinserted it, I ran memory tests with Windows and MemTest86—both showed no errors. I checked temperatures with HWiNFO64; they were normal before crashes (72°C), but reached 64°C during crashes. I’ve tried various fixes so far, except using a single RAM stick, which didn’t solve the problem. I’m not keen on replacing RAM just to get it working. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Other solutions I’ve attempted are listed below. Specs: MSI B550M Gaming Plus Ryzen 7 5800x, Asus Dual RX 6750XT x2, TridentZ RGB, 16GB, 3600Mhz. Running Windows 11 on Samsung EVO Plus via MasterLiquid ML240. Solutions tried include clearing CMOS, updating BIOS and drivers, fresh GPU installs, disabling CPU/RAM settings, using sfc/DSM, running memory diagnostics, checking temps, reseating the CPU with proper thermal paste, etc.

Which motherboard should I choose? If you have four slots, consider using the remaining two. It’s not perfect, but it won’t significantly affect performance. Would you like to reset Windows or perform a complete reinstall?

I'm using an MSI B550M Gaming Plus. I haven't tested the other slots yet, but I'll try them out and see what happens. I've reset Windows, but not performed a full install yet. I don’t think it’s necessary to do all this and risk losing a lot of data.

I also tested the remaining two slots on the motherboard, but the computer keeps crashing even when using two RAM sticks.

If it didn't resolve, the problem might lie with the CPU's memory controller. I recommend sending it back for a replacement.
