Hello, I’m facing difficulties letting two PCs run Call Of Duty together. Others suggest it’s due to poor network setup on the game side, but I suspect something else is at play. One machine connects smoothly, while the other keeps getting an error about not being able to connect online. I’ve tried using a VPN on the second machine, but it’s becoming increasingly frustrating. Currently, four devices are trying to play COD, and only one works without a VPN. The latest OPNsense updates haven’t fixed this issue. Let me know if you need help troubleshooting further.

are you using VMS? or is this two completely different systems. VMs tend to be awful and i would not recommend them for gaming, as the anti-cheats tend to make them not work. Some games dont have them so youll be fine, but the online ones like COD tend to have some sort of limitation for them. Generally speaking its probably coming down to the machines on the network potentially having some conflicts. Are you making sure that their IPS and such arent conflicting?

The devices I'm playing on are individual hardware units. Each has a fixed IP address, and I've configured aliases to streamline port forwarding to those setups.

I don’t know for sure, but have you considered skipping that step? Just enable automatic IP and port forwarding—probably called something like plug and play on your router. Otherwise, it seems like this is designed to prevent multiple instances from sharing the same address, which a VPN would handle.
