Microsoft plans to leverage DX12 as a means to push users toward Windows 10, citing strong demand for WIN7 among current customers. The company acknowledges the negative response to WIN8 and has already offered free versions to some tablet makers, following the failed sales of Surface tablets. This appears to be a final push to encourage adoption, especially since many gamers still prefer WIN7, while NVIDIA and AMD anticipate benefiting from the upgrade to take full advantage of DX12 capabilities in upcoming game engines.

This was anticipated, actually. I still wanted to install Windows 10.

Many enjoyed the XP version, yet they only brought a DX for Vista and 7. Each new operating system gets a fresh DX release. It’s not groundbreaking. Most folks still prefer 10. It’s just outdated news. Stop getting upset.

Sure thing! It sounds like you're planning a switch to Windows 8 or 10, but you're running into some trouble with your current setup and gaming experiences.

The problem isn't about exiting Win7, but forcing it in an unfair manner. If they had created a better operating system, people would have switched easily, just as you suggest. It's about improving rather than making things worse.

Well here is another reason to move on from 7 to 10. If this is true and it is only on W10 I will switch 100%.
