Only on games with low requirements?
My PC handles higher requirement games smoothly—R6, TF2, CS2, Overwatch work well. However, when I attempt more demanding titles like Roblox or League of Legends, it keeps freezing constantly, making play nearly impossible due to frequent stutters. I tried adjusting CPU settings after a tutorial, but it was a while ago and I’m not confident in the changes. My hardware includes a Ryzen 5 5600X, RX 5700 B450, 8x2GB RAM at 3600MHz.
You might attempt to disable fullscreen optimization. It functions in certain games for individuals experiencing stuttering. Navigate to the game's exe file, right-click and select properties. Within the compatibility section, verify the option to disable fullscreen optimization. This adjustment assisted me with occasional stuttering in WarThunder.
Only games with lower demands tend to freeze. It might happen briefly when the system needs more power. You could try enabling a frame rate limiter or V-sync if you haven’t already. This can reduce stuttering during spikes in requirements. Playing on higher settings gives a consistent performance, avoiding interruptions.
I haven't tested it on the others, but in League I I've used V-sync and capped FPS at 120, 144, 240. It didn't help. Probably because the games aren't that demanding compared to others, which might cause my parts to idle and lead to stutters.
What Windows power mode are you employing? Balanced? High performance? If you choose Balanced, consider enabling High performance for extra power, though it may increase usage. If that doesn’t improve things, revert to Balanced. Personally, it eased stuttering and occasional random slowdowns in Windows when idle. I still rely on Nvidia’s balanced setting for the GPU.
I also overlooked including titles such as Among Us and Lethal Company alongside League, since they often lag and turn the experience unpleasant.
