Hello! I understand you're new to Linux and using WSL to run Linux apps on Windows. You're looking for a solid example of a Linux terminal app that doesn't have a direct Windows version, making it practical to use within Windows. Let me know if you'd like more suggestions or help setting this up!

I successfully set up Python and executed a basic snake game developed in Python via the Ubuntu interface on Windows 10. Looks encouraging. I can share the file if you wish to test it, simply open the location and run "Python snake.py" snake.py.

Ranger serves as a file manager; Vim functions as a text editor, though it performs better on Unix-like systems; gcc acts as a C compiler, sometimes tricky to set up on Windows but functional on Linux; imagemagick is a command-line image editor with scripting capabilities; mpd combined with ncmpcpp offers music playback and a terminal interface; awk, grep, tar, perl, Python, sed are among the tools available. Overall, it seems you likely don’t need to rely on these extensively.
