Hello! After several minutes of playing each session, my system crashes... Except for LoL so far. Some experience error messages, others not. I recently upgraded my computer, wondering if certain components might be defective. CPU changed from I5-12600kf to I7-13700kf. GPU upgraded from RTX2060 to RTX4070. RAM increased from 2x16GB at 3600MHz to 4x16GB at 3600MHz (kept original sticks and added two more). PSU went from 700W to 1200W, power supply is ATX 3.0 MBO, motherboard Z790P WiFi d4. I performed a clean Windows reinstall and updated all drivers. Ran sfc /scannow, used DDU, tried everything in safe mode without network, reset Nvidia control panel to defaults. RAM XMP is enabled but nothing is overclocked. Games still crash after a few minutes of play—sometimes 40 minutes, sometimes just a few. Crash logs include Dying Light Mount and Blade Bannerlord Xcom 2, WoTC Aliens, Dark descent. Games that haven’t crashed yet? League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics. I’ll test other titles too so I can update the list. Right now I’m really confused about what to do next. Are any of my parts faulty? Could a driver be broken? Am I just unlucky? Please, anyone with advice would be great. Help me! 1. Note: All temperatures stay below 60°C.
Checked without XMP; PassMark RamMon shows your RAM details, confirming if the new version matches the previous one.
Testing with XMP disabled so far works well. The RAM modules appear nearly the same. I reviewed all aspects and found the sole distinction lies in the version number, which I think may be the reason (though only when XMP is active).
The RAM might be different. Corsair doesn't manufacture RAM themselves; they only add heat spreaders and cosmetic parts to RAM made by OEM suppliers. The version number indicates various RAM models inside. That's why I advised you to verify with Passmark RamMon or Thaiphoon Burner. If the RAM differs (which it likely does), ensure you're using the same RAM (pair) in the same channel pair (correct slots) and that the weaker RAM is placed in the primary slots.
I tried using XMP off for several hours and it seems to function properly. I looked into Rammon and everything is consistent except for one line—something about the manufacturer. Now I understand the problem. My main clue was the "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" messages. Thanks for highlighting this!
The relevant makers are being identified. Please share a Rammon image if you'd like assistance with XMP settings. We can adjust your RAM configuration accordingly.
