Only four processing units are visible in Windows settings for the Ryzen 2600.
Hey everyone, I just upgraded my system with a Corsair Lpx 16GB RAM, an MSI X370 gaming motherboard, and a Ryzen 2600 processor. After installing all the drivers, I opened MsConfig and noticed it shows only 4 cores instead of the 6 I expected. Also, in the CPU settings it lists 2 cores and 4 threads. Is this typical? Should I adjust these settings to get better performance? Thanks for your help!
No, there wasn't a 1300X processor with eight functional cores.
Have you restored Windows following the upgrade? Or did you perform a fresh installation?
Consider adjusting your cooler slightly, review your system details, and explore Ryzen Master if you haven’t done so yet.
Hi there! Hope everything is okay. You might want to clear out all the old devices in Device Manager. Open it and make sure to show hidden devices. Remove any grayed-out items that were from your previous motherboard or CPU. It’s possible these will reinstall themselves if they’re still active. I’m not sure if this will fix things, but it’s worth a try before you reinstall Windows. Also, have you installed all the drivers from AMD or your board manufacturer?
