Only displaying two cores while the system should have four.
The task manager displays identical results. I’m puzzled by this, having checked the BIOS and confirmed all cores are active. I also attempted to adjust settings via msconfig without success. HWiNFO lists 4 cores and 8 threads, yet cores #2 and #3 are missing. Any solutions, advice, or updates would be appreciated? Is everything functioning properly despite this?
which containers are you talking about? if you navigate to Msconfig>Boot>Advanced Options then you can set the number of processors at startup, uncheck that option or check it and review how many processors appear in the dropdown, for your particular processor it should be 8 since it supports 8 threads; if it doesn't display 8 threads then it might indicate a problem with your BIOS, reset the BIOS or install an updated version as it could be a bug.
You probably just need to reset everything, but I’m not sure about the backup steps. Since I don’t often use BIOS, it’s likely simple.
Are you referring to a complete reset of Windows or just a fresh setup? Either way, backing up your data would be wise.
