I’d consider that a solid troubleshooting approach (swapping hardware). I wouldn’t stress about your own motherboard when simply swapping an M.2 slot. Also, the search functions in the BIOS are generally limited, so you might need to locate it yourself manually—your motherboard likely offers CSM options. I’m not certain whether turning on CSM will resolve the M.2 problem, but it’s at least worth investigating for SATA issues. Sadly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s already active, though I’d be surprised if not.

I plan to perform the drive swap first, allowing me to install on my computer and revert if necessary.

I've attempted to connect the drive to my PC, but it didn't function properly. It appeared but wouldn't allow Windows installation. I had a different M.2 drive installed with Windows already set up, and it worked fine on that system before. Now, when I try the other drive, it refuses to use it as a boot device.

Uncertain if I've made any headway, but I currently have an m.2 drive without an OS and an SSD connected. When using a Windows USB installer, I can access the installation process. However, other drives aren't visible. Following the previous steps, I enabled CSM on another machine and moved the drive, but it remains inaccessible during boot. If I enter Windows Repair, I can access CMD and see the results mentioned.
