I haven't noticed any deleted folders on my machine. Everything appears to be functioning properly after installing 1809 from 1803. The system seems stable with normal operations. No files seem missing, though I'm not sure if this is just a minor issue. Running smoothly with three drives—one 256GB SSD and two 3TB Toshiba HDDs—on an older machine. The update to 1809 seems to be working well. It might be worth checking if the problems are specific to Intel systems versus AMD ones. Your feedback would be appreciated.

I seem to be unaffected so far. Still, with more than 8TB of storage spread across several drives on my PC and not reviewing each file, plus an Intel-based machine (i7-6700k), it’s possible.

It appears more often among users who have OneDrive but haven't fully utilized its features.

My metadata remained intact even after some adjustments. I believe it should be saved in C: rather than where the game is kept. The file resides on D drive on my PC. Also, I don’t rely on OneDrive; it adds unnecessary complexity. It seems to complicate finding files meant for the C drive or any other storage location. OneDrive isn’t ideal for Windows 10, or cloud solutions in general. My experience with physical media is positive—hard drives, SSDs, and USB drives work well for storing content. Backups are essential. I can’t access GTA 5 without my password, which is frustrating. I should have saved it securely in a hidden document in a folder only I would recognize. I’m struggling to recall the account name. My dislike for Social Club is evident—it was disappointing on both GTA 4 and GTA 5. I just want to play Story Mode without issues. That functionality was lost during an update. Game saves still exist on GTA 4, but I’m unsure if data survives on physical media. So far, no major bugs in Windows 10 version 1809. I could be mistaken, but I’d rather be sure. Personal settings like 3D text screensavers sometimes reset to default OS versions, which is concerning. But this issue appears consistent across all updates. The screen saver fails to launch after launching games like GTA 4 or 5 on every machine I’ve tested.

The issue arose because it impacted a small number of users and involved personal information, prompting widespread media attention that heightened the situation's intensity. THAT SAID: No one's personal data should be exposed during the Windows upgrade. Even if just one individual is affected, it’s unacceptable—regardless of hardware problems, malware, or viruses. We still lack clarity on what triggered this problem. There’s no known system setup (hardware or software) that caused it. Insiders mentioned it in the Feedback Hub app several times, but few upvotes and limited ticket submissions led Microsoft to ignore it. This highlights a significant weakness in the Windows Insider program, which depends on user feedback for effective bug reporting. Collecting detailed information is time-consuming and challenging, especially when you’re not directly involved. Rumors suggest an upper manager may have prevented the Release Preview from being released. If true, this would have allowed users upgrading from the previous version to the new Windows 10 release more effectively. The Windows team could then analyze feedback and telemetry specifically for those affected, rather than overlooking others. Assuming this happened, it underscores how poor managerial judgment can cause problems. This situation illustrates what occurs when leaders prioritize deadlines over quality, growth, and customer trust. At this stage, most agree that improved data handling is not justified by the new features in a mainstream operating system. The positive side is Microsoft is now offering free data recovery support via a 1-800 line for those impacted, aiming to help recover lost information.

Today My boot priority changed. This is fishy. But I have also had this in the past. This is BIOS level stuff. I have not tried to reboot from power off state yet. This is scary stuff too. I could see something like that making a user think that data is gone.

It seems there are some missing files, like the graph HTML for CrystaldiskInfo and the language files for CrystaldiskMark. So far, only the PC with the 1809 upgrade has experienced file disappearances.

1MB3 could be accurate. My startup priority was altered, leaving only a blinking cursor. It wasn't included in the boot sequence. I needed to adjust the BIOS settings and it worked. Anyone experienced with this problem?
