I rebooted my computer yesterday and when it powered up, only one screen was visible. I have two monitors, both linked through DisplayPort. One appears to be favored over the other. The second monitor remains detected, but Display Settings marks it as disabled. Removing the DP cable or unplugging the power from the main display allows the secondary screen to appear again. Once the primary display reconnects, the secondary loses connection. This pattern reverses if I swap the cables—still the primary takes precedence. Both screens function properly when connected via HDMI, though it can't display at 144Hz anymore. The issue only arises with DisplayPort connections. I'm using an RTX 2060 graphics card. Previously, both displays operated flawlessly for months. I've tried several troubleshooting steps: restarting the PC, reconnecting DP cables, switching to a different cable, unplugging power, updating drivers, reinstalling drivers, reseating GPU cables, and clearing display cache. I haven't adjusted any settings, drivers, hardware, or other parameters before this problem started. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Use Win + P then select "Extend" while both devices are connected. I'm not sure it affects anything, but it seems like a good starting point for me.
