You're encountering some common challenges in Battlefield and PC gaming. It sounds like server availability or matchmaking issues might be affecting your experience. Trying different games like Conquest could help, but if the problem persists, it may be related to your local server settings or online connections. Comparing to Xbox Live is a good observation—sometimes platform differences impact match quality.
It's typical in the morning. Retry later in the afternoon. Also verify your filter to locate additional servers.
There are numerous players around me. Review your filters while searching for servers, ensuring only those with a fully occupied lobby appear. Also, confirm all expansions are selected if you have them. If not, it clarifies the reason for limited visibility—most servers run at least 1-2 expansions and more. Conquest is significantly more popular than TDM.
BF4: Only 64-player servers work, otherwise it's really dull. I usually play Conquest, Rush and Gun Master. Sometimes the servers go down and there aren't many players at certain times. But midday to evening I get solid full servers. (I'm in EU). Sadly, Deathmatch isn't popular if you're into Hardline or Star Wars—those were bad after launch so no surprises there.
BF4 was terrible. Even today the game remains buggy, though it hasn't gotten much worse. It's clear the development was rushed. Another point is that we lack mod support for creating maps or custom modes. Unlike CSGO, which offers robust mod tools and maintains a strong competitive scene, CSGO's server includes many mods and gamemodes through its browser. This fosters a lasting community. Personally, I played a lot of Battlefield 3, which was excellent. Still, it doesn't match the quality of Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 2 (I really miss those times).
