I recently put in a new SSD and when I powered on the computer it showed only 7.9 usable and 8.1 hardware reserved. I found online advice about rearranging the drives, which helped for a day until the system crashed again and returned to 7.9 usable. I’ve tried almost everything I saw online, but nothing seems to fix it. I’m not sure if the drives themselves are the issue since I’ve tested other sticks with the same problem. Anyone else have experienced this?
they have the t-force vulcan z 16gb kit at 3600 MHz. I've already tried reinstalling them and disabling XMP settings, but it didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion!
Which motherboard do you own? Does it require a BIOS upgrade? Are the RAM slots dusty? Is the RAM itself contaminated?
the issue might lie with the RAM ports rather than the RAM itself. Cleaning them properly is key. Follow these steps:
I really hope I had saved it back then. Someone mentioned a bulletproof solution in another forum, but anyway follow what was said. Also, reset the CMOS battery—take it out for about 10 minutes while the PC is off and unplugged. Re-seat the RAM, re-seat the CPU (even if it seems unnecessary), update the BIOS, install new chipset drivers. Use canned air or isopropyl alcohol at least 70%, more works better. A soft brush can help when combined with the isopropyl. P.S., try different slots if you can, probably makes a difference.
