Online version of The Elder Scrolls and Gold Edition
Online version of The Elder Scrolls and Gold Edition
HI, I’m looking to purchase The Elder Scrolls online with the Morrowind expansion for 10 euros on Steam. I’m curious about the differences between this version and the Gold Edition. If I get the Morrowind expansion, will I receive the DLCs? Or am I forced to buy the Gold Edition instead? Why was the Gold Edition removed from Steam?
The Elder Scrolls Online Standard Edition includes every DLCS you need.
Start here by avoiding the Steam version of ESO. The installer is problematic, login problems are frequent, and it often crashes. I’d only suggest purchasing from the official site. Thirdly, it’s not worth it anymore. The game is riddled with microtransactions, pay-to-win mechanics, loot boxes, etc. The subscription feels mandatory. Fourthly, you can’t collect everything. “The Collection” covers the released quest DLCs and chapters, but misses the dungeon expansions. I’d advise sticking to the cheapest base game. If you enjoy it and are okay with spending, consider a monthly fee of $12–15 for access to all DLCs and some in-game currency, plus inventory fixes, plus about $60 yearly for new expansions. That brings your annual cost to around $200, but that’s the current price.
The Gold Edition is no longer available; you're limited to The Collection. The DLC can be found in the link I shared: Summerset, Morrowind, Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Orsinium, Imperial City. It excludes Clockwork City, Shadows of the Hist, Horns of the Reach, and Dragon Bones.
