Just remember to search specifically for the VS Express Web version when looking for VS Web, as the express edition offers great functionality at no cost. For your needs, Brackets seems like a solid choice.
you have notepad++ along with your preferred web browser. there are affordable options like dreamweaver, aptana studio, microsoft expression web, and microsoft webmatrix available. i haven’t tried the ones from microsoft, but i’ve used aptana—it’s a bit to learn at first, yet it feels very similar to dreamweaver.
