I've seen the issue lately—loading from OneDrive takes a long time, which bothers me since I store all my schoolwork there daily. Every time I open it, my HDD seems to activate, even though I only want to use it for games. Checking File Explorer confirmed OneDrive is actually on my HDD, which isn’t what I expected. I’m wondering if this is normal or if something went wrong. Also, should I just delete it completely?

You can adjust the location. It prompted you about the installation path, and you should have chosen HDD.

One drive keeps a backup of all folders you choose, giving you a physical copy. If you remove them from the settings, you can delete them from your drive, but they won’t sync across devices. Avoid deleting synced folders as they’ll be removed from all locations on your drive. If you have few folders and don’t mind performance, you can set the save spot to your SSD instead.

Move it by dragging and dropping it into the SSD slot.

At the lower right corner, there is a one-drive icon that you can right-click to access its settings. It seems you should detach it and reattach it to a different spot on the SSD to prevent the hard drive from constantly spinning up.

It seems like you're referring to adjusting a security setting by right-clicking properties and navigating to the securities tab, ensuring admin access is enabled before making changes.

I accessed D:// via OneDrive, reviewed the details, checked the security settings, and everything appeared correct. However, the JPEG file size is still excessively large for my needs.

Launch an administrator command prompt, navigate to D:\, delete D:\onedrive, then proceed to check.
