Find the built-in benchmark in GTA5. Navigate to graphics settings and locate the key for starting the benchmark or stress test.

Many people mentioned that GTA5 includes a built-in benchmark. If you need an independent one, Fraps works well but isn't very practical for free use. For a simple FPS counter, you can rely on Steam, NZXTs CAM software, or Fraps as well.

That's correct, I didn't find any documentation about the benchmark. It just executes it and displays the FPS live.
