One RAM module functions correctly, the other fails.
I completed a fresh installation with an Asus X870 TUF board, 9800x3d and Corsair Vengeance 6000mhz RAM. Immediately after, I encountered several BSODs, though the system remained functional. Prime95 crashed instantly, and testing one stick at a time didn’t resolve the problem—neither single stick nor multiple slots worked. Memtest86 detected 100 errors in just 10 minutes, confirming faulty RAM. I returned it and received a replacement kit. Now I’m seeking advice: is this an indication of a broader issue with the motherboard that could surface later? Should I keep returning it?
It would make more sense to bring back the motherboard and try a different one.
You're looking to use a single stick on these boards, and most suggest a particular slot for that setup.
It seems uncertain, though two sticks are sufficient and won't cause any issues.
