On my HP ZBook Studio G5, I've struggled to get audio through HDMI or DisplayPort in Windows after a fresh Windows 11 setup. The high definition audio devices don't appear in the device manager, yet Nvidia's control panel recognizes the connected HDMI as an output for digital audio. Clearing the NVidia drivers didn't help, and all HP support drivers are already installed. In Ubuntu, the HDMI audio functions perfectly without extra adjustments, suggesting the problem isn't hardware-related. Anyone have additional steps to try?
