It really doesn't require that much; I usually hit about 5 gigabytes at 1080p. There might be a memory leak causing some users to think it's worse, but others just follow the 16GB recommendation without addressing the problem. CONSPIRACY!
The minimum requirement is 8GB, but many users settle for about 5GB. Even with a strong CPU, my QX6800 could run Battlefront reasonably well when paired with a GTX 960 and around 6GB of RAM. Could the resolution be the issue? I’m not sure if super sampling is available in Battlefront, but if it is, turning it off might help.
