On average, how many video games do you purchase annually?
As a recreational gamer with a demanding job, my playtime is limited. Consequently, I typically purchase 3-4 titles annually. More recently, I joined Origin Access Premium, providing me with a sufficient collection of games – including Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, and Need for Speed Payback – to enjoy for this year and potentially the following one as well.
My finances are dwindling rapidly, and will continue to do so, after considerable effort building a respectable computer, it's challenging to acquire numerous titles. Primarily, I depend on companies offering free games, such as Ubisoft’s recent distribution of Unity, which has proven effective; I now possess an extensive collection of unplayed games. Although these constraints exist, my passion for gaming and materialistic impulses compel me to purchase approximately fifty games annually.
I frequently purchase games whenever I discover one that genuinely appeals to me; this often results in a substantial collection, especially during Steam sales or significant discounts on GOG. While I possess numerous unplayed acquisitions, most were obtained at remarkably low prices. A game must be exceptionally captivating for me to purchase it immediately upon release at its full cost, although exceptions exist, such as Kingdom Hearts III and Resident Evil 2 (2019).
