I swapped out my MSI B550 gaming edge Wi-Fi for a fresh motherboard and CPU. I took out the CPU and began cleaning it thoroughly. It turned out some thermal paste had stuck in the socket. Could this affect its condition, making it less appealing to sell on eBay?

You can remove the plastic component and simply wash it with soap.
