Hello, I’m looking to convert my old router into a switch for connecting my second PC and future devices. I understand I need to disable DHCP, but I’m unsure how to do it properly. I’ve tried accessing 192.168.0.1, which leads me back to my current router’s page, and when I connect the old router, searching that address or using 0.0 shows no internet connection. It seems like a simple adjustment is needed, but I’m not sure where to start. If someone can guide us through this process, it would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

You can disable DHCP from your device settings even without an internet connection.

Avoid using the internet. Simply link the devices and navigate to the website through your router, then adjust the settings and update the IP address.

Turn off your existing router and link the PC to the previous one. Access its web admin panel. Disable DHCP and alter the router’s address to something distinct, such as 192.168.0.2. Reconnect everything and power on the new router. Open the web admin at 192.168.0.1. The issue arises because both routers share the same IP conflict. Your PC is currently receiving an IP from the old router (192.168.0.1). To access the internet, you must set the default gateway to the new router, which should be 192.168.0.1. Updating the old router’s IP address likely resolves the problem.
