You're facing a challenge with your current power setup. Since your PSU only has two 6+2 connectors, you'll need to find a way to accommodate the RTX3080's 3x8-pin requirements without replacing the entire PSU or spending a lot more. Consider exploring alternative solutions like using a different power distribution board or negotiating with the manufacturer for a compatible upgrade. If that's not feasible, you might look into purchasing a PSU specifically designed for RTX graphics cards or checking if any local retailers have surplus components.

You can purchase a high-quality 850W PSU with modular design and 3x 8-pin connectors for $100 to $150. I'm not confident about using a 3080 model with an 80 Plus Bronze rating. The Super Flower Leadex VI Platinum PRO is an 850W ATX power supply certified by 80 PLUS Platinum, comes with a 10-year warranty, features super connectors, full modularity, flexible flat ribbon cables, a FDB fan, and SF-850F14PE. Available on Newegg.com.

Considering a Corsair RM1000x gold at a comparable cost, I was wondering if there are alternative ways to utilize the existing 800W unit.

You can always adapt it for a more budget-friendly setup. Perhaps use an HTPC or a basic gaming PC with lower-grade components (such as Minecraft or Roblox machines). It won’t cause any damage, but a solid power supply is essential. Look for another place to put it.
