You're facing a situation where your crosshair hero has a crosshair vii hero with three RAM slots failing. Over the past four months, you've upgraded to 64GB of RAM using a 7,580x3D chipset. Deciding whether to upgrade your memory or sell your current hardware depends on your usage and budget. Since you mostly play older games rather than competitive esports titles, consider if the performance gain justifies selling. If you're comfortable with the trade-off, upgrading to AM5 could be a good option. Otherwise, selling your existing RAM and CPU might be more practical.

The question highlights a pattern where three units fail quickly. It asks for certainty about the setup and whether the context is clear.

I think because three slots are failing, you must have four drives. Have you tested each one separately using MemTest64?

I tested every available slot using memtest and switched between two drives. Three out of four failed within 15 loops, with over 100 errors each. I’m not sure why four out of five started failing so quickly.

When it's just errors, it's more likely the stick isn't stable at that speed. Are these two sticks from separate kits? I'm guessing they're both 2x32.

Used 4x16 sticks without XMP, tried them again with the older ones too. It still displays 3 out of 4 slots. Apologies for the slow response—no Wi-Fi at home and no cell service until I arrive at work. The middle of nowhere is really not great.

It really does matter if the RAM slots work smoothly. Just having one slot that doesn’t cause issues should be enough for compatibility with both old and new sticks. (Also, thanks @wONKEyeYEs!)

Same slot works perfectly without any issues between the old and new versions. Between 2018 and about two months ago, everything ran smoothly with the 4X sticks. Recently, I tested the updated sticks on an AM4 board and found one minor problem after 15 memory tests using Memtest.
