Old laptop issue
Old laptop issue
I own a MacBook Air from around 2013 with a 13-inch screen that stopped working. After letting the battery drain completely a few months ago, charging now shows a rapid flashing green light without powering up. I’m heading to university soon and need guidance quickly. When it functioned properly, I experienced fast battery drain, suggesting a possible battery issue. I don’t want to replace the battery myself and need advice on what the green light means, whether the device is now unusable, and the cheapest solution or replacement options. Could the charging cable be faulty? IMG_1255.mov
Have you attempted to reset the SMC? https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3604 You require a dependable computer for your university studies. Even if you manage to get the Macbook back online, it’s over ten years old and has shown itself to be inconsistent. Consider a refurbished model or explore any student discounts you might qualify for. (Ensure you have at least 16 GB of RAM.)
I've attempted to reset the SMC but it hasn't made any difference. The only change I observed was that the charger light stops flashing when the power button is pressed, which is confusing. You're absolutely right—it's an old device and it runs very slowly. I'll check for student discounts and refurbished Mac options. Thanks for your assistance!
