Old Dell laptop L702X glowing orange with a white battery indicator that doesn’t make sense
A few months back I experienced the same problem. While cleaning my laptop, I used an old screwdriver with rubbery grip pieces that came loose. A few of those pieces dropped into the battery opening. When I tried to reinstall the battery, it didn’t fit properly and the orange-white flashing light started repeatedly without any clear pattern. After clearing debris from the battery area, it worked perfectly—no more issues. Now, even when plugged in, the orange light keeps blinking, and plugging in the cable prevents charging entirely. Turning off the laptop and connecting the cable works fine, showing a normal charging indicator instead. I’ve checked the battery, metal contacts, and the unit itself, but everything looks fine. Could another part be dirty or damaged, causing this warning light specifically for the battery symbol? I also tested gaming and stress testing, but nothing unusual was found.
